Charlie's Motel

My husband and I have previously rented rooms at Charlie 's Motel ( when the previous owner was still managing the place). Just about 4 days ago (9/26/25) we were in town from out of State and decided to spend the night at Charlie's... biggest mistake!!! We were given a room that smelled very musty, carpets were smelly too, we opened both full size beds only to find hairs from a previous renter, pillowcases were yellow!, we were then offered a different room, same smell, hairs, and dirty sheets!. We immediately requested a return as there was no way we would stay at such disgusting place. Price should be $30 a night at the most and Iam being generous. Whoever is managing this place is doing a horrible job!

I stayed at Charlie's motel in Frostburg for about 3 nights a week for several months because of my job. I got a single room. I stayed there with no problems. Rick, the manager, took care of everything and did a great job making sure everything was in tip-top shape. ||Fred Huber

I’ve been going to this motel for decades. When previous owner John owned it. Under new ownership now with Rick the manager & an out of state owner it’s gone completely down hill. Bed sheets are not washed ! I checked two different rooms same issue. Current management must be replaced ! When I complained about the conditions he simply didn’t care or offer an apology or explanation. I am very disappointed in the way this reasonably priced motel has sunk to such low standards. If you do decide to stop here please pull back the bed sheets as I did and inspect the bedding & the pillows. Thanks for reading, Frequent travelers

A perfect place for solo travelers staying for a couple of nights. When I pulled up I was genuinely a bit scared! But the check in was quick and friendly and the room was very inviting. The beds are soft and everything is clean, if a bit worn (I certainly don't mind the rustic look!). I loved the location being just outside the bustling main street so it felt more peaceful, but it's still a short walk to all the action! I'll certainly be coming back here!

Update 6/26/23 - This was our 3rd time we've stayed here. Reviews have been mixed since the property was sold, but the new property manager Rick is doing a great job of turning things around. The motel was clean, had lots of hot water & is still reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Charlie's Motel to anyone staying in the area & will definitely stay there again when I'm back in the area. This is the second time I've stayed here with my Hubby. It's a no-frills place, but it's clean, comfortable & has lots of hot water in the shower. There is a bar attached to the motel that has decent food & good prices. The owner, John, is very pleasant & fun to talk to. We will definitely stay here again.
