Casa Morada

We stayed at 4 different places during our trip, and Casa Morada was where we had our best sleep. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The property is beautiful and lush, and they have many amenities for their guests like sun chairs, towels, umbrellas, bikes. We saw beautiful sunsets by the pool. Breakfast was good and the freshly squeezed orange juice was a bonus. We wish we would have stayed there an extra couple of days.

The property was beautiful, serene. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We got a quick tour when we arrived. Free kayaks, snorkel gear, and bikes kept us as active as we wanted to be. Also free yoga out on the island under the covered area was beautiful and well instructed. The breakfast was great and consistent. The room was big and clean. Overall, between the staff, the property, and honestly the products they use in the bathroom, this place was amazing and just what we needed. We are already looking forward to returning.

We had been staying at the Moorings across the street for years for our annual winter getaway but decided to try a new place due to changes at the Moorings. We feel so lucky to have this gem! From the moment we arrived at this adults only retreat we felt at peace with nature. We kayaked, snorkeled and relaxed at the waterfront for a week. We took the bikes everywhere! But it was the staff that truly impressed us! Sam the manager is WONDERFUL! Warm, accommodating and deep expertise about the island. Eric the bartender was so friendly and interesting we could have talked to him all week. Ruth (who is the cook) serves up a beautiful breakfast everyday with homemade croissants and even packed us a lunch when we went fishing all day. Within 10 mins of being at this resort hotel my significant other said "Check and see if we can stay an additional night." As much as we love this place, we hope it stays off the radar! It's the perfect hidden gem. They gave us early check-in and late check- out which felt very VIP. Seems like most places lately are rushing you out the door. I also arranged ahead of time some accommodations to start off our celebrations for the night we stayed and the staff nailed it. We felt immediately like family, especially considering I was greeted with a hug! We typically stay at the Caribbean resort & Chesapeake Beach Resort (both great places - but expensive), but this will be our new go-to place when visiting Islamorada. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at casa morada. The grounds were very well kept and the pool area was very nice. We liked how laid back the atmosphere was. It was within walking distance to some restaurants. Our room was spacious and clean, but the big disappointment was our room had no shower. We stayed in the Shangri La suite and there was no shower. I would have liked it to be explicitly stated that there was no shower, because I never imagined that there wouldn't be one. It was very inconvenient to only have a tub in which to bathe for 5 nights. I would stay here again, but I would not book the Shangri La suite again due to this reason.
