Candlewood Suites Bluffton-Hilton Head by IHG

We stayed from Nov. 3rd through Nov. 11th. The staff were great. I left a ring in the room and the housekeeper turned it in. I would like to thank again Alsia, housekeeper and Leesa head of housekeeping. Jemca AGM, Katiuska front desk. I was pleasantly surprised that my ring was turned in. Thank you for your honesty. This Hotel also host long term guests. I found the hotel to be quiet, great free washer and dryers. Great full kitchens.

Any good reviews have to be fake. The hallways smell like number 8 incense. The elevator smelled like hash oil and the carpets were wet in the room. They charge 50.00 refundable cleaning free if you leave the room dirty, but they must not use that fee to clean the room. Dried pasta sauce was on the cook top and who puts plastic food wrap over smoke detectors? IHG should be embarrassed this hotel uses one of their brand names. Oh, the fire door in the hallway won’t stay closed.

I would recommend it if you’re staying on a budget. Be sure to check around on other sites. They offer you the best price inside the hotel. Their price for me was almost $40 higher than a second party Booker. The toilet never did get fixed. It ran all the time. The overnight staff would use handicap parking for their own parking. The bed was extremely comfortable. Slept like a baby in it. Plenty of hot water when you took a shower. Laurie at the front desk was outstanding. She will talk with you, she would greet you, she made you feel like you’re important to them. They have a laundry facility on site. I thought it was real nice, but they did not even charge you to use it. I did not use the exercise room. But it was always neat and clean when I walked by it

Do not under any circumstances stay here. Before we got to the elevator we were overwhelmed by the smell. It smelled like dog piss and cheap carpet shampoo. Once in the room, everything felt damp. We all had terrible headaches after ten minutes. We left, and to their credit the refunded us without issue. Stay at the Best Western two minutes away. Much much nicer

Other recent reviews are spot on. This hotel is disgusting, and I’m a diamond member, so Ive spent a lot of time in IHG hotels. Mold everywhere in the room, Ive included a few rushed pictures i took on my way out. Stuff (ear wax and/or snot?) smeared all over the walls. Entire hotel smells musty. The hotel was out of coffee the day I was there. The staff is all super nice, maybe even the nicest I’ve encountered in any hotel this year, but that doesn’t make up for the fact that the room is not fit for habitation. I was promised a points refund to make up for how bad the stay was, but it was never sent. Some decent restaurants in the same parking lot is a nice bonus.
