Candlewood Suites Augusta, an IHG Hotel

Karen was the desk clerk and she was unable to assist on any issue and our arrival began the Twilight Zone experience in Augusta. Yes maybe by booking on Priceline we took a risk however I called the property prior to booking to ensure a suite had both a bed and a couch or pull out sofa. The desk confirmed it but then I get a kitchen and a bed too tall to use as I'm disabled and unable to sleep. Karen said no other rooms were available albeit it looked like it on the hotel website and the Priceline website. I asked Karen for an extra chair but she proudly announced that we don't do that sort of thing here. We asked for a different room. She claimed twice "No other rooms exist!?! Priceline canned 2-3 times to request a different accomodation but Karen wouldn't have it. Secondly I requested

Smelled like bleach all on the first floor very strongly. 100.00 for incidentals so you prepaid for all the items they know you are going to steal... They could do better. To their reply that bleach smell was coming from a bucket in the hallway used to catch water leaking from the first floor ceiling. CO worker has to change rooms because the heater didn't work.

I’ve never felt so uncomfortable or disrespected at a hotel before. My husband and I both have legitimate service animals — mine assists me with mobility as I live with Multiple Sclerosis, and his is trained to help with PTSD as an Army veteran. These dogs are not pets; they are working animals who allow us to function with dignity and independence.||When I arrived to check in, I was having a good day — walking well enough to enter without my service dog, while my husband took both dogs out for a potty break. I immediately informed the front desk that we had two service dogs with us, but instead of being met with understanding, I was interrogated about why my service dog wasn’t with me at that moment. The first room #124 was clean. The room was comfortable until water started to run down from the bathroom air vent, onto our belongings. The shower knob and downspout pulled out about 4-5in., when grabbed to turn on the water. It was disconnected from the wall stud. Also the outlet over the oven counter has a short. I feel the oven and the outlet are on the same circuit, which it shouldn't be because of amperage differences. We were moved to room #310 for the remainder of our stay, which was a big haul of 2 trips for all of our long term belongings. All together an unhappy stay. May give another try for the same room, to see if improvement have been made. Great place, but needs some attention. Also, this app wouldn't allow me to download photos. Absolutely Disgusting and Unsafe – Stay Away Don’t believe the pictures on their website — the reality in person is completely different and frankly inhumane. This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I booked a stay at Candlewood Suites in Augusta, GA, and what I walked into was not just disappointing — it was dangerous. Manager was so rude the don’t even have manners to talk to customers and i have selected room that can sleep 5 person and they provide 1 bed 1 sofa and 1 recliner chair , when i asked to front desk how come 5 person gona sleep in this room she answer 2 in bed 2 in sofa and 1 on recliner chair.
