Candlewood Suites Atlanta West I-20 by IHG

This is a shockingly bad hotel and service is laughably incompetent. I have stayed here twice for work - the first time I found out my shower was broken at 9:30PM and told there were no more rooms available. I was told I would receive a refund and then simply left to find other accommodation myself. Nearly 2 months later, I have not received that refund… My second stay here I was double charged for my room. Despite being promised a resolution from the manager of the hotel, I still haven’t received a refund for that charge over a month later. It’s hard to imagine how the customer service here could be any worse. Avoid this place at all costs.

We needed five rooms, and management gave us an exceptional rate. On arrival checking in was easy and went quickly. They just completed cleaning all the carpets so there was a bit of a spell and the carpets were still wet. On entering my room I found the linoleum in the kitchen area extremely slippery due to water and carpet cleaning solution. I requested a mop and bucket to clean up the water and solution and dry my floor. Other than the wet flooring the visit was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel

Had an interesting interaction with someone who I assume is a manager. Cleaner came by Sunday, and I requested they come back later. They never did. You would think this could be solved easily. Manager began to go through paperwork and claim that the cleaner took a photo of a magnet on my door that I never put there. She seemed much more interested in placing blame on me then just solving my problem. She eventually said she can have it cleaned tomorrow. As I walked away she decided to pop off with " you're lucky". Will likely recommend my company use another location for future reservations. Also just as a heads up. Their TVs are locked down. You can not access additional inputs with universal remotes. Which is a downside seeing as I can not watch anything other than there 2000s channel l

Our stay was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped inside, the staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to cater to our every need, making us feel truly welcomed. The room was clean, and comfortable. I would definitely stay at this location again.

Overall, the hotel room itself was okay. Some of the things I noticed upon arrival: Room was 79°F in “off” setting when I got there, so I had to turn the A/C on 65°F while I went to run an errand. There were visible crumbs on the ground, and there were a few chipped pieces of the kitchenette countertop. Lastly, there was a smell when I arrived - as if someone had fried fish possibly before I got there. So, it took a while to get that smell to go away. I sprayed Lysol & I think eventually the next day my braid hair sprays that I was using on my hair finally drowned out the smell. I only needed to stay for one night, so I managed. Also: there were people talking loudly and slamming doors repeatedly at around 2AM. Pros: The staff were pretty nice overall. Also, free parking & pretty quiet/nic
