A Must-Stop for Any Soul Passing Through Hampton, TN What an incredible place — Boots Off Hostel is truly a hidden gem along the trail. Even if you’re not a backpacker, you’ll be treated like family from the moment you arrive. The love, warmth, and care they show is something you don’t often find in this world anymore. Our stay here was one to remember — a chance to rest, refresh, and be surrounded by good people with good hearts. Whether you’re passing through or just looking for a place to reconnect with the beauty around you, Boots Off is a must-stop. They’ll even help you set up for a short day hike or two if you’re just testing the waters of the trail life. We’re so thankful for the time we had here, and we hope to stop back through when the wind blows us this way again. — The Las

This place was the cleanest hostel by far. The staff is friendly and professional. The owner Jim Gregory is the best. I definitely will refer all my friends and family. Beautiful property. Close enough to the lake walk. They also have shuttles and kayak rentals.

This is the best AT hostel I’ve stayed at. The accommodations were great, our cabin was warm and clean. Jim, Lucky Moon, and Grumpy were great hosts. Highly recommend Boots Off!

Super nice people here! One of the best hostels have stayed at on the Appalachian Trail. They accept work for stays, and the work is fair and not exploitive in the least bit. There is a beach 15-minutes down the road too.

We had a great time here! Stayed for 3 nights. They know exactly what hikers need and have it readily available. The kitchen, showers and restrooms are very clean. The staff is super nice and makes you feel like a part of their "family". Although we weren't staying there in "the bubble" they had the campfire lit every evening and we spent a few really nice evenings connecting with other guests (many of them come here often because of the nice vibe). Although its a cool place to meet people and hang out it also allows a lot of privacy if you choose so. We also rented SUPs and they drove us down to the lake ans gave us a short course to make sure we'll have a good handle of it. Bonus - if you like animals, this is a great place to stay. They have a super friendly dog, a cool cat that comes up
