Black Bear Resort

My daughter and I came for a 3 night stay and absolutely loved this place! We will be back for sure! We stayed in the Creekside Cottage and it is super cozy! Linda, Travis and Charles are excellent hosts and we sat around the community fire pit every night! Chuck’s breakfast every morning was great and the added bonus of meeting his sweet pup, Chloe was great! Highly recommend this place!

I’m an AT section hiker and have stayed at a handful of hostels in Ga, NC and TN. Black Bear is the nicest of these. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the operation is professionally run. Also theres a nice cafe for breakfast and lunch. For our next hikes we’ll be further north along the trail, but I’d stay here again if in the area.

We had an amazing stay at Black Bear Resort! It was exactly the kind of cozy and rustic mountain experience we were hoping for. The people who work there were super friendly and fun to be around (especially Dr. Hasenpfeffer, the rabbit!). It was very family friendly for our two young children. There is a nightly communal fire, a small shop with food, drinks, etc., wifi, and a nice indoor space that serves breakfast. The cabin we rented was exactly as advertised and perfect for our needs. We would strongly recommend staying here, and look forward to visiting again!

Im not sure where to start, me and my wife just spent a couple of days at Black Bear Resort in the whoopiecat cabin. It was just perfect. The room was great for a place to lay your head, the porch was so nice to sit on and just enjoy the wooded surroundings and listen to the Creek run. In the morning, you'll find a great (and wallet friendly) breakfast, cooked by Chuck, who is just such a welcoming person. The staff and owners are so friendly and create such a welcoming atmosphere. It was our first trip to the area and I dont think id choose anywhere else to stay when we come back. Thanks for everything! Hope to see you all soon!

I’ve been to Black Bear Resort twice in the past month. You just can’t find a better place for the price. It’s just off the AT and, therefore, mostly caters to hikers. They have a variety of options for lodging: tent camping pads, a covered tent camping pad, smaller cabins with one bed, largest cabins with multiple beds. The owners provide everything you need to enjoy yourself (chairs, a grill, cooking instruments, plates, utensils, footballs, basketballs, a nightly fire). A creek runs right by the cabins. Don’t skip out on the awesome breakfast in the morning. While $14 is a bit steep for a breakfast burrito, it hits the spot. We’ll definitely be back next year!
