Two Star Review:||||Positives: I like to start off being positive. It’s a very whimsical and vintage cottage that reminds you of Anne of Green Gables. The price is very affordable compared to other places to stay on Mackinac Island. Trish has so much rich family and island history. It was fascinating to hear about her childhood and memories growing up on the island. The pastries were also very delicious and homemade. The brunch was all ready and on time at 8:30. It is evident that she puts a lot of hard work into making it nice for her guests. The bath towels were very soft and nice.||||Minor Issues: There was an egg shell that I found in one of the pastries. The rugs are dirty. I didn’t feel comfortable after getting out of the shower and walking on the floor. I felt like I needed to wear
Lovely place to stay, very clean, kind woman running the place who at even the MENTION of my cinnamon allergy, which is mild, completely changed what she was serving for the continental breakfast so I could eat without worry. Made friends at the breakfast table, overall Lovely stay, would definitely stay again
Trish runs a very quaint b&b close to downtown.. a 4 min walk.. |breakfast is served in dining room with all other guests between 8;30-9;30 am. Trish is a lovely helpful host offering fresh baking, homemade preserves, fruit, yoghurt , tea, coffee and juice. Trish has spent most of her life on the island so is real historian with a knack for engaging storytelling. Rooms are upstairs, well appointed, single or double beds, simple designs, clean shared bathroom with 1 other room. You will be pleased. The island is much more beautiful when you stay overnight as evenings and morning are very peaceful..
This is a quiet, beautiful Bed and delicious breakfast off Main Street. Just far enough from downtown to avoid the traffic but close enough to walk wherever you wish. Rooms are charming and cozy. Trish is an expert island historian, cook, and just plain wonderful. I recommend it to everyone!
The Bogan Lane Inn is quaint and comfortable. Rates are affordable. Great location near enough to the businesses in town, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Owner Trish's home-baked breakfast breads, muffins, and scones are superb. Very clean and comfortable. Trish is a wealth of information about the island and its history, as well, and made wonderful recommendations of things to see and do.
