Blue Seal Inn

Please, if you can, find a better accommodation. The only convenient about this place is its location. Everything else is inconvenient, especially the people you will have to deal with going to this place. They are unprofessional and inconsiderate. I’m not even exaggerating. They pulled a classic bait and switch scheme. I reserved a room with 3 beds months in advance. Early on the day of check-in I get a voicemail from their business number asking us to confirm. I called back and confirmed that we are good on our reservation. But upon arrival, this guy pulls out a story saying we didn’t call him directly on his phone (how would we know?) We confirmed with front desk lady on the phone our reservation and supposedly he didn’t know that so he gave up our room with 3 beds to someone else. So

I booked a stay with Blue Seal Inn though hotels.com but was not able to check in at the hotel at 9:30pm because there was no one at the office. I knocked on the door, rang the door bell, called their phone number, all to no avail. I had to stay at another hotel. You know, things happen. But then they refused to refund my money. So no, don't recommend that hotel at all. FWIW, hotels.com also declined to return the money. You know why? Because they called the hotel, and the hotel administration told them that it is impossible to not be able to check-in as the hotel office is staffed 24/7. Luckily I recoded my failure to check-in and that the office was indeed empty,. Ended up returning my money via a credit card dispute.

The bathroom was dirty, tub had stains, the toliet seat was worn out with white coloring rubbed off, there was no holder for the toliet paper, no fan in the bathroom, floors were fithy with hair , scum in the floor corners, dust and hair under the furniture. no one brought towels, we had to ask for a broom to sweep the floors, no one changed the sheets, tidied the room or emptied the trash can. They advertised a microwave and table to sit at- there was neither. There was an exposed electrical outlet circuit on the ceiling and an exposed loose receptacle outlet with no cover. The walls had scuff marks, dirty marks and plastered areas that had not been painted and was mulitiple colors. Positive: Close to shops Negative: Room floor was very dirty, no door knob on the bathroom, the shower curtain was stained with mold, no smoke detector in the room and also no microwave. The worker did move us to another room and it wasn't any better issues in both rooms as I just stated

This room was by far the worst of any stay I've ever had. Shutter style blinds were broken, had to hang towels so no one could see in. The shower was filthy and the curtain fell as I was in the shower. T.P. dispenser was missing. The bathroom door looked as though it had been kicked in and had large globs of spackle smeared on. The door wouldn't close. Bathroom baseboard was rotted off by the tub. Old tv cabinet in the room no tv. Looked like a piece of furniture you'd find in a dumpster. The room looked as if a dog was allowed to stay alone and chewed and scratched doors and trim. It was bad enough for adults but we had our granddaughter with us. This room shouldn't be allowed to be used.
