Blackwell Hotel

Beautiful historic home renovated into bed and breakfast. Walkable to all of downtown Coeur d'Alene. Easy access to town parks 🥾, marina ⛵, and 🏖️ beach. Rooms feature antique clawfoot tubs most with shower. There are multiple fireplaces, a pool table, a media room downstairs with sauna and shuffleboard. The wonderful and accommodating staff made and served breakfast from the remodeled kitchen. Large lawn area and gazebo looks ready to host formal events. This is a self-service check-in and check out via text, ensure you have completed that before arrival on site. Thank you so much to Krystal for helping us experience this beautiful property.

The room in the carriage house was cold, even after hours of the mini split set at 80 and being out to dinner most of the evening when we arrived back to the room it seemed that it was not any warmer. Other than that just ok. Room was moderately clean, breakfast was adequate.

We had a wonderful experience at the Blackwell. I made a mistake and thought I had reserved two nights but only reserved one, but the manager was extremely helpful and she moved us out to the carriage house for the next two nights in fact at a discounted rate. We really enjoyed it because we didn’t have to deal with the stairs (there’s no elevators) with our luggage! Breakfast was awesome. Having access to coffee & snacks all the time was wonderful and a roaring fire at our fingertips was just amazing. Beautiful streets around it with gorgeous peak fall leaves was such a fun walk. We didn’t mind the 9:00 breakfast to be lazy, but it would be nice if it was earlier so we could take out earlier for fly fishing! Would love to come back every year the same time!

Let me first preface by reassuring that we DID NOT have a BAD stay by any means, and what little intersection we did have with the staff was very pleasant. The staff actually was probably the location's high point! However.. The whole house/experience was a lot like your our first impression. Looks GREAT at first/from a distance, but when you get closer it needed some work. 🫤 We stayed in Room 4 (North Travelers King Suite) The decor of the room was lacking both in quality and in taste. (To be fair, we were warned by the Hotel's own description of the room decor, but still found it disappointing in person). Simple things like cable management/properly hiding TV cables was not done. Mismatched/random hangers on the wall mounted hooks, missing ceiling vent cover above bed - All detracted

We loved this hotel. We stayed in Room 1 (has a private bath). The room and bath are very spacious and comfortable. We recommend a desk & chair to further improve the convenience of the room. There is plenty of space for one. That said it was easy to set up a laptop downstairs in the common area. The staff are present in the morning, providing an excellent breakfast for hotel guests. They are courteous, friendly and helpful. Overall we highly recommend this hotel!
