Best Western Plus St. Augustine I-95

Convenient location off I-95. Clean rooms, comfy beds/pillows, good shower. Breakfast spread was good and well supplied by staff. Coffee maker in lobby is a bit intense to figure out, but there is also a simple hot water dispenser next to it if you want tea. Building is set far enough away from main road so that there was no noise at night.

I stayed at this Best Western from 01/11/2026 to 01/16/2026 while traveling from out of town to attend a law enforcement training program at St. Johns River State College. The hotel itself was clean, safe, and generally quiet, and the breakfast was convenient, which I appreciated during a demanding training schedule. Unfortunately, a serious issue occurred on the evening of 01/13 that significantly impacted my stay. After returning to my room from training, I noticed that the room next door had water running continuously. I initially rested, but when I woke up, the water was still running. My concern went beyond noise I was worried the occupant might have been experiencing a medical emergency, as this was not a normal situation. I contacted the front desk and reported the issue. I was told

The location is fantastic, we were visiting family in the are and it is well positioned between restaurants and the outlet mall with easy highway access. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The room was awful. We were traveling with our toddler and our three month old and I was hesitant to actually stay the night. We didn't have other options so we made it work. We were on the first floor and the whole room felt damp. The iron in the lamps had all rusted, the carpets were wet feeling, to the point you didn't want to take your shoes off. We found a few bugs and went on a bed bug hunt (luckily no bedbugs). This is clearly a good example of the "Plus" hotels in the Best Western. First impression on entering the lobby is good. Very friendly staff. The rooms are nicer than some of the competition. Solid surface countertops and shower. So many others have plastic shower walls. The coffe machines that are in the lobby are really impressive. Everything is fresh ground and has a multitude of options. About the only negative here is the breakfast. Its OK, but definitely not "great". However, that is a problem with most every other hotel. We would definitely return here again.
