Best Western Plus Bayside Hotel

I had an excellent stay and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it easy to relax and feel at home. What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Kim and Mele were outstanding: professional, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless and pleasant, which made a real difference. Their kindness and efficiency set the tone for the entire stay. I would absolutely return and recommend this property to anyone looking for a smooth, friendly, and well-run place to stay in Oakland.

The rooms are big, clean and all are working well. There is a microwave and that is a big plus. Water dispenser is available on the ground floor, would be better to have another on the 3rd floor. Staff were all approachable. Breakfast is better than I expected.

We stayed one night, the night after Christmas. There were very few guests. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The view of the estuary was lovely. In the evening we took a short walk to the hotel next door for a bite to eat. Breakfast was decent. The staff we interacted with were friendly and efficient. Despite the warnings about crime in the city, we had a delightful stay.

What a lovely find! We wanted a room near the Oakland Scottish Rite for the Gaskell Ball. What we got was a huge room with a balcony overlooking the estuary with birds and a gorgeous sunset. The room was clean and in good repair. The bed was far more comfortable than a recent Marriott. It was quiet and the morning breakfast included an espresso machine and tasty cheesy eggs. Bonus points for free EV charging (2 stations!) that changed our morning plan from “find charger” to drive home without a stop. 100% would stay here again.
