Bear Island Campsite

Great spot along the river to set up camp. We were the only ones here for the night.

Great rustic site! High on a ridge and off river enough to be peaceful. River access is up a rather high hill. Canoes will have to be tied off or lugged up hill. Vehicle access only by two-track. We got a late model Mustang out there so don’t sweat it too much. Just make sure it’s been dry for a bit. No permanent latrine. Being a shovel or a bucket. The pooping holler is magical, but please bury your business. Clean up after yourself and have fun!🇺🇸

There was a little bit of litter and the stairs are definitely a challenge but the campsites were very nice and clean. Nice place to land the boat.

I've been there twice,& both times were absolutely amazing ☺ beautiful & well kept up 👌👍
