AuSable Valley Inn

This was our first time staying in this hotel. When we first arrived the gentleman at the desk was nice we checked in went to our room and thats where the problems started, first there was no fitted sheet on the bed. Wet to the lobby and asked for a sheet and was given the wrong size! Went back to the lobby and got the right size and extra towels for the room. Never once did he offer to come fix it for us. The room was OK paint swatches on the wall, broken lamps, broken fixtures in the jacuzzi tub, broken do not disturb sign. When we ran the jacuzzi i noticed things in the water and drained the tub, it obviously hadn't been cleaned right since there was a disgusting residue left in the tub!!! Needed a place to stay while visiting in Atlanta. Found this gem tucked away by the AuSable river. Clean rooms, pet friendly, pool, firepit, big deck to drink your fresh coffee and watch the sun rise. Continental breakfast was nice with pots of fresh coffee. Lots of outdoor activities, small town (Mio, Michigan) with lots of good diners. Great get away. Will be back! 🇺🇸

This was the perfect one nighter for Christmas tree hunting. Rooms were clean and cozy. Pool and hot tub were perfect for the kids. Met the owner. Very nice gentleman. The family and I will utilize this location again for next year’s Christmas tree adventure.

Fantastic for a value type hotel. Very friendly staff. Some maintenence underway, e.g. wall patches in our room prior to painting. But clean comfortable rooms. It had a recliner and another comfy chair. Breakfast had no hot food but very acceptable. The coffee was really good and a far cry from the awful coffee usually served at a hotel. Pool and whirlpool. I would definitely recommend.

Had a great time very nice facility constantly doing updates. Ownership is nice. Rooms are very clean. Definitely will come back anytime I stay in Mio.
