Beachfront Inn of Martha's Vineyard

For short stay is good not long stay. Rooms are not cleaned on a regular. Noisy late at night by owner and renters. Woken up late at night by renters having sex or middle of the day renters have no respect. Kitchen is closed off day or night . It doesnt feel welcoming. Room is not as in website and not everything the room says it has is available in room.

This beautiful historic home is truly a gem on the Vineyard. My Husband and I were looking for last minute accommodations for one night...impossible to find, we thought! Marlene wrote back immediately offering a room for the night and was so accommodating to our specific needs. From the time we checked in we were treated like family...even put up in the bridal suite when we mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary. This historic home is so quaint, clean and beautifully kept. The beds were so comfortable and rooms were quiet. This beautiful home sits right by the ocean and what a wonderful time we had sitting on the sun porch sharing a bottle of wine. We will definitely return!

NOTE: this is now called The Beachfront Inn ||My girlfriend and I had a great time at The Beachfront Inn. It's biggest perk has go to be the location, which is about 5 min from downtown but also right on the beach. Stan was nice enough to upgrade our room to a balcony with an ocean front view. He was a gracious host and was very helpful; he even drove us to the ferry on our last day! ||The room itself was also great. We had a comfortable bed and the walls are well decorated. We enjoyed a simple breakfast that Stan provided every morning. ||All in all, I cannot recommend the Beachfront Inn enough. We hope to stay there again someday!

We wanted a beachfront location with breakfast and a close walk into town. The location was great, but the breakfast was not good. We never ate there, but went into town instead. We almost never saw the owner. The beach chairs were very uncomfortable. They were probably ok for teenagers that don't mind practically sitting on the ground. The grounds were not kept up and we were not that impressed. I don't think the bathrooms were ever cleaned during our stay. GROSS! The Inn had no AC, which we knew, but it was sooo warm in our room on this hot and very humid weekend, we almost couldn't stay inside during the day. (89 degrees during the day INSIDE our room) Next time we agreed to stay at a place with AC and always check the place out, if possible, before dropping almost $600 fo

Despite the several extreme reviews on this property and the management, we found our overall experience to be just fine. My girlfriend and I were looking for a quite getaway to ourselves, and we found just that at The Samoset and had a great time. The few times that we saw the management, they were pleasant, but mostly un-involved, which was fine for us. ||||We went during peak season and were able to get one of the last rooms in all of Oaks Bluff, rather than just the Samoset and the room was what we expected: a quaint, quiet "home base" we used to explore the island. Just as the title suggests, if you want anything more, your higher expectations could result in disappointment.||||The property is well located, a short walk from the SeaStreak ferry and city center.
