Baymont by Wyndham Kalamazoo West

We had a horrible experience at the Baymont Kalamazoo West. Do not stay here! In short, we were given the key to a room that was already occupied, had to wait for an hour - at midnight - for the poor general manager (who was actually trying her best and was very nice) to come in and personally clean rooms, the room we were given had bedspreads with multiple cigarette burns and holes, the whole room smelled of cigarettes, which got into all of clothes and belongings, there were bugs crawling on the floor and walls of the lobby and ceiling of our room, it was HORRIBLE. Do not stay here.

If I could leave a negative star I would! The GM, herself,booked us into a room with no heat. Sheets were filthy ! When my concerns were brought up, they said they would move us. We agreed. The building smelled of cigarettes! They told us we had to wait to be moved that if we left and came back they would have a room ready. We left for 3 hours, came back, went to our room to collect our items and moved them to a new room and noticed that some of our belongings were missing. So I went out and told them that our belongings were missing. They said no one had been in our room. They then went and changed the sheets on the bed gave me another blanket and told me that they didn't have any other rooms available that night and we would have to stay there in a room with no heat in 30° weather. The hotel was dirty from every angle, the women checking us in were literally arguing about who was going to help us at the desk, that took about 3 or 4 minutes before the woman helped us. There was a woman in the lobby who was clearly intoxicated, pizza box on the floor, legs spread with her panties showing. The elevator was questionable, the room had forks stuck in the sink drain, stains on the sheets from whatever, paint peeling off the door, smelled of cigarettes in a non smoking room, the bed was the only comfortable thing in there. The lobby doors were permanently open the entire 36 hrs we were there, even when we returned late that evening, doesn't seem safe, breakfast was a joke. If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION at this hotel. Upon arrival, the smell of marijuana greeted us in the parking lot. Upon entering the hotel, the smell was just as strong. We went to the front desk which was not staffed. After waiting several moments a young man can out of the back and looked at us- never said a word until I stated that we needed to check in and he said, “we don’t have any rooms”. I stated that I had a reservation and he stated again there were no rooms. A third time, I explained that I had a confirmed reservation and he told me it didn’t matter until I checked in and they didn’t have any rooms. Bad vibes just pulling in the parking lot. People were just hanging out in the parking lot. I was a little nervous because I had expensive cargo on my trailer. We arrived at 5PM and they had to check if the room was ready. There were items left in the refrigerator, some debris on the floor. No hot water for a shower.
