Basecamp Tahoe South

We booked last minute looking for dog friendly accommodations. They were one of the only places that answered the phone, accepted our dogs and welcomed us quickly. The room was perfect and very affordable. It had everything we needed (fridge, clean bathroom with amenities, hot tub, king bed, plenty of room for all of us and our gear) Having the brewery with food on site and breakfast available is so convenient. We accidentally found this place but won't go anywhere else on our next trip to S Tahoe. Thank you!

We had another fantastic experience at Basecamp Hotel! Maddie and Rodrigo were extremely accommodating and helpful during check-in - so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The barista also deserves a huge shoutout - the food was absolutely delicious and a perfect start to our day. We’ve stayed here many times and will absolutely continue coming back. Basecamp never disappoints and continues to be one of our favorite places to stay. Highly recommend!

Chose this hotel for the location and the fact it looked great from the photos. However : There was a bad smell in the room which we couldn’t identify. TV was missing cables, coffee machine had no coffee, sink would not drain and hairdryer was faulty - the phone in the room can only accept calls and you can’t call out so we had to go to reception in minus temperatures to log the issues.In hindsight I would have spent a bit more and chosen another hotel, wouldn’t recommend this as an option if you’re in the area.

I'd seen this place before... choose it due to the location (right on state line, and across an small street from Caesers Republic). Amazing service from Maddie!! Very thoughtful, considerate, and knowledgeable. Hotel is thoughtfully done. Not a 5 star resort- and i think that's part of the charm! Clean and spacious. We did a King Balcony- i'd reccomend that room.

I booked through Expedia for my stay at Basecamp. Unfortunately due to bad weather, I was not able to make the reservation. The folks at Basecamp were so understanding and helpful. Even with cancellation issues through Expedia, they have kept clear and friendly communication in figuring it out! Would stay here next time just for the great customer support.
