South Lake Chalet

We typically stay at international chain hotels when travelling, but this time during research for lodging in Lake Tahoe, we could not ignore the 5-star reviews on South Lake Chalet. Looking deeper into the details and amenities, we could see the room was smaller than the big hotels chains, yet the amenities made up for that. Did I mention the 5-star reviews? As becoming more common, this was a contactless experience and the mindfulness for check-in and check-out instructions and information was flawless. Everything we would need to know was provided via email and text prior to our arrival and departure. The room was CLEAN, COZY, COMFORTABLE, and super quiet. Exactly what we were looking for. Upon our arrival the gas fireplace was on, and the room was at 70 degrees much to our delight…this

Such a perfect place to stay if you’re looking to visit Heavenly! It’s such a short walk to the town, shops, restaurants, and resort. We had a super short stay but it was a perfect little place for two people. I’d definitely come back if I was looking to ski/snowboard at Heavenly since it’s such a prime location. I booked with Airbnb and it was a super seamless process checking in and everything. I would 100% recommend!

I had a wonderful experience at South Lake Chalet and highly recommend this hotel. The facilities were very clean and organized, and I particularly appreciated the unique character of the space. It is also great to find such a pet-friendly and affordable option in the area. EV charge is also available on site. A big W for our Tesla!||The management team was extremely responsive, and the check-in process was a breeze. Additionally, the location is excellent—it is less than a 10-minute walk from the main casinos if you are willing to make the short trip.||Thank you for a great stay!

Absolutely amazing stay! The location is perfect - only about a 10-minute walk to the lake. You can enjoy a beautiful walk around the area, surrounded by nature, with that fresh forest smell that makes Tahoe so special. It’s very peaceful and quiet, no noise, no interruptions, and no one bothering your stay at all. The hotel itself is clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. Everything is well taken care of, and you truly feel at home here. I slept very well and felt completely comfortable during the entire stay. I also absolutely love the fireplace in the room - it adds so much warmth and creates the perfect Tahoe atmosphere. You truly feel the spirit of Tahoe here 100%. Wonderful location. Clean, quiet and well furnished. Simple check in and check out. TV takes a little getting used to and I rarely turn one on while on vacation but the Winter Olympics were taking place so I had to try. Soap and paper supplies were first class. I would absolutely return when heading back to the area. My only wishes would be a little more storage space and a toaster for the kitchenette.
