Customer Reviews
Nice campground. We got a beach site. Sites were a little closer than I thought they would be. Water access for potable water. Bathrooms and showers were nice and heated. The seafood place across the street was really cool with a nice atmosphere.
Great campground close to Bar Harbor with the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound across the road. The bathrooms were clean. Showers cost 25 cents to use for five minutes. The sites were a little uneven so leveling can require some blocking. Not a huge issue m, just be aware. We had a 50/30 amp site with water. Full hookup sites were limited. The host told me that within two years all sites with water/power will be converted to full hookup. The views of the ocean were stunning.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, one of the front desk attendants (there were two during our visit) was quite unprofessional—both over the phone prior to our arrival and again during check-in. She came across as rude and condescending; at one point, she even said, "If you could read, you'd get it," which was completely unnecessary.||In addition, our campsite—as well as many others we noticed—was extremely uneven. We had to use five 2x10 boards under one tire just to get our setup level, which was frustrating.||That said, I do want to acknowledge Rich, the camp helper. He was kind, courteous, and went out of his way to assist us, which helped offset an otherwise disappointing experience.
Had a great 6 night stay at the campground the week after Labor Day. We started off in a tent site, but moved to an electric/water site for the last two nights. There were plenty of openings as it was the end of the season. Staff was very accommodating. The issue was, there is a strict no generator rule, and we were planning to use ours. The bus stops here which is excellent. Facilities are great. Good dump site, plenty of trash receptacles. Campground was very quiet and there is a variety of site types. Bathrooms are clean. Showers are great and well worth the 25 cents for 5 mins. I would definitely camp here again for easy access to Acadia. There’s an excellent coffee shop up the road, and the lobster place across the street is not to be missed.
Can't beat the location! So close to Hull's visitor center and Bar Harbor. The campground itself was nicely kept up. We stayed in a tent in the tent/RV section with water/electric hookups. It was nice to be surrounded by trees instead of just one huge open field. That was more for strictly RV sites. We walked around our first day and realized most sites would be great to stay. The ocean view spots had a nice view of water and mountains, but also a simple walk from other sites to see it. A nice place to call home for the week!
