avid hotel Augusta W - Grovetown by IHG

I was in town for a funeral service and stayed 2 nights here. The beds are so very comfortable! The bathroom was clean and I loved the mirror because it had a light around it which is perfect for doing make up and your facial routine. And it was quite peaceful as well at night. They have free breakfast which is a bonus. I also loved that they have an ice machine downstairs with free filtrated water if you bring your own water bottle which I did have so I was able to fill my water bottle up for free!!! The area this hotel is in has stores and restaurants very close by within 5-10 minutes via car. The staff was very polite and helpful.

The whole staff was smoking outside the front door. They are parking in reserved spots for Diamond members. There is a smell and an odor when you walk into the hotel. The staff is rude and unprofessional. Go to Garner much better IHG property.

Small hotel with minimal amenities. Staff is perfunctory and quick to size you up. Comes off as unfriendly-listening to respond, not to hear. Ok for a quick stay, the plus is the location. Easy highway access, eateries nearby, and good parking. Reasonable prices.

Positive: The hotel was not an old building which was surrounded by many new shops and stores, which was less than three minutes from hotel. Negative: The breakfast bar didn't have a wide selection of hot items. When entering the hotel, the lobby looks like a convenient store with drinks and packaged snacks for sale. It does not have a traditional welcoming hotel feeling.

This Avid Hotel nails the essentials with modern style. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, the room spotless, and check-in smooth as hyperspace travel.
