Customer Reviews
Outside Bar Harbor so you'll need to be willing to walk. Free parking though, so if you want to brave the parking in town it's practical. Friendly. Good view. Huge room and lovely comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. A great place to base yourself to explore the area - 5 minutes drive to Acadia Park one way and Bar Harbor itself the other way.
Positive: Location. We were close to town but far enough for quiet. Also, great views of bar harbor Island. Negative: Water refill station in the lobby was dispensing water SO slowly! Gave up after a few minutes and bottle was barely half full.
Great place just outside the town making it somewhat quieter and relaxing. Being on the hill you get wonderful views of the harbor especially Bar island and its low tide causeway. Rooms are large and quiet all with balconies facing the ocean. Nice breakfast with eggs, meat, pastries, coffee, etc. Best of all the shuttle to downtown stops every half hour and is the last stop before town making it am10 minute ride that drops you off in the center without any parking worries or costs.
Stayed here for three nights. The rooms are old, the bed was comfy however everything else was old, still even a sink in the bedroom. Bathroom was pretty small, even the tub was narrow. They had tried to renovate the bathroom putting in a new vanity however the drawer was broken and never stayed closed. Toilet seat was the worst I’ve ever come across at a hotel, all marked and scuffed, plus little black hairs all over the bathroom floor. Housekeeping doesn’t come for any of your stay, you have to put the trash and your towels out by 11am, if you want them changed - though my trash bin was never lined again. Hotel is more motel with exterior corridors lined with this odd carpet - you want me putting the towels on this! Had a balcony with a great view - the best part of the hotel. Breakfast
I was not aware that each room had a door facing the outside. In comparison to other hotels near the area, I see that this tends to be common. It was considerably windy the two nights we stayed, and our door howled the whole night.|I did find some hairs left behind in the bathroom but otherwise the room was clean. The bed is a platform bed and was pretty uncomfortable for us. Our room was outdated and needs updating. |We did have an ocean view and the view was as described. See below. |Hotel staff were kind and courteous to us on arrival. The continental breakfast was just ok.|The one big draw for this hotel, is the location and the shuttle does run to Acadia and back.
