Aqua Venture Inn

The room is nice had a slight weird smell but I got used to it. The bed however is very hard so I reccomend bringing extra pillow for comfort. The toilet and bathtub are also very small. So I did not enjoy that.

Some aspects of this place are a good value, some leave a lot to be desired. First the bad. Electrical outlets are few and not where you need them. My wife and I both use CPAP machines and need power. There was one outlet behind the bed in the center, because I carry an extension cord I was able to use it but it wasn't convenient. There was an outlet under the t.v. and a couple by the bathroom sink. The toilet seat was loose and unstable. The bed was on wheels and moved when my wife tried to get in. Maybe the wheels lock but they weren't locked at the time. As far as handicapped accessibility goes, there was a small rise to the sidewalk, you could coax a wheelchair up it but not comfortably. The most disgusting place ever, I am requesting a refund. The room had a crazy nasty smell and looked like it has never been cleaned. The floors were so gross, never mopped a day. The couch covered in stains. The bedding had cigarette burns all over, sheets stained, mattress stained. When we requested a new sheet they were just as bad and covered in holes. The lady who changed them thought we didn’t speak Spanish and she was talking badly about us while she changed them. Bathroom floor was gross and wet. We ended up spending $150 on air mattress and supplies since everything else was booked out for festival we attended. I wish I could give 0 star. STAY AWAY FROM HERE! Also no fire alarm?? Dangerous.

I'm a very patient, calm, gentle person. Walking in the lobby and being met with a woman sizing me up from head to toe, looking disgusted, and then turning her back on me, shortly after opening a door and letting it slam in my face, that was surprising. Immediately following, the person checking guests in didn't even attempt to hide what I perceived, believed, and felt as racial bias aka racism. I was told I needed to go across the street and get $100 cash, on top of what I already paid, in order to stay. On my way out, I asked a white person staying there if they had to do that... I was told no. The entire ethos and vibe of their communication with me made it very clear they perceived me as a threat, and that is not only traumatizing but morally and legally wrong.
