Apex Inn

Made a reservation on a Friday night for a Sunday night two night later. Called Sunday morning to cancel because the biggest snow storm of the season was coming and was going to shut down the roads to get there. I was told management would call me back to discuss a refund. After calling them back multiple times over several weeks they stopped answering my calls and returning my messages. They also charged me an extra $100 for having kids in the room…that I did not use. I also offered to take a credit for a future stay, which is what other places in Tahoe do when there are big storms, and they never replied to that message. Shady business with shady management. Same management for High Country Lodge as well. I would avoid both properties.

We were presently surprised the room was actually pretty decent looking inside considering the overall low-budget feel from the outside. The experience took a turn very quickly when several doors down a couple of trucks pulled up and started "tailgating" in their parking spots after checking into their rooms. Drinking, BBQing and playing loud music. We did not feel comfortable addressing it with occupants and turned to the motel staff. They offered a different room which would not have helped due to the loud music. We told them we were checking out immediately and wanted a refund. The place was advertised as a motel and not a campground where one might expect this type of behavior. The staff was rude and could care less. They told us to talk to Expedia. I don't know why this place has bad reviews. They were Great! We had a connection problem with ourTV and they came right away and fixed it. It was a problem on Spectrums end not the hotels. We wanted to use the jacuzzi and called the office and, right away he came and unlocked it, cleaned it, and made sure we had big fresh towels to use when we got out. I love the location, too. Away from the busy city, but close enough to be there in a couple of minutes. This was my second time staying here in a little over a year. Both times were great! Highly recommended!

A hot tub ! Beautiful rooms. Away from the noise and hustle of Tahoe. Walking distance to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and shopping ! Bring your bike hit all the Tahoe hot spots

It's a nice quaint hotel. Close to everything. The rooms have what you need and it's quiet.
