Americas Best Value Inn St. Louis Downtown

Most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. Nothing was clean, floor was filthy, holes in walls and doors, bathroom looks like it’s held together with grime and PVA glue. Did not feel clean, safe or comfortable while staying here. Whilst packing up for check out was greeted by a mouse in the room. Complained to reception who told me the weather was too bad (it was slightly windy) for the manager to come in to deal with the situation and provide some form of compensation for my unexpectedly shared room and that I would have a discount on a future stay. Told him there wouldn’t be a future stay - I barely survived until check out. Avoid like the plague. I’d be grateful if the manager would contact me. I’ll be contacting environmental health so I’m sure they’ll be hearing from somebody else

I just stayed this hotel at St.Louis for only one night, the shower was very dirty and there was smell and smoke in the room. There were lots of dust and dirt on the stairs of building. It is the worst room I ever stayed among all hotels and motels I traveled across the US. I had to walk in to stay there as it was dark and I didn't drive a car. I was charged 25% higher cash price than online price because my card had problems. But the staff at front desk was nice and friendly. I ate the peanut sold from front desk and had diarrhea one hour later.

You can’t beat the location, nor the rates, for Downtown St. Louis hotel space. The staff made us feel right at home, and were very accommodating. Very pleased!

Positive: Free parking. Location to Convention Center Negative: First room given us had someone sleeping in it. Vagrants during the night in parking lot very noisy and disruptive. Fighting, hollering and knocking on doors. Strange smell in room and urine smell on stairs.

Terrible! The pictures are deceptive. Elevator didnt work. Stairs to second floor stunk like old urine. Every room I walked past smelled of stale cigarettes. It looked like bullet holes in some of the doors. When I walked into my room the smell made me immediately nauseous. It was dark dingy and dirty. The mattress looked like it was 20 years old. The clerk inspected the room and told me he didn't smell anything bad. Offered me another room. At this time I did not feel safe at this establishment. I could not get away fast enough. I've read some of the other reviews. After my experience of corse. They apologize and state they will make improvements and don't.
