Americas Best Value Inn Marion, NC

My mother was supposed to stay at this motel from the 20th through the 22nd of September and could not stay but one night out of nessesity but I would have rather she slept in her car. The room was infested with roaches, the neighbors would hound you to take them to buy beer if you left your room and the front desk clerk was extremely rude. I would rather sleep under a bridge than this motel. I wished I could give this place negative stars...

The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful with dining options (pizza delivered!) and we got a great rate. ||But the room wasn't cleaned very well: water bottle cap and food crumbs still on the floor, the appliances felt kinda sticky, and the room info cards just need replaced (even lamented they were just gross). Pool has chipped and misaligned tiles. ||The hotel is older and so has stains/damage and we could still smell the cigarettes in our non-smoking room. But my son was happy with the wifi and the old TV still had a good picture quality.

Very nice man! Good service! Clean room! Never had a single problem when staying here! And prices are good!

First things first the owner Mike is so rude, absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and forced his way into the room to "check our floors" then insisted we leave the next day so he can clean them even though I literally brought my own vacuum cleaner. Secondly there's a reason it's so cheap, the bathroom door didn't even close all the way, the chain lock for the door wasn't installed properly so it couldn't even latch and the "pool" was BLACK stagnant water that was probably the worst thing I have ever smelled, I saw two cockroaches while I was there and the atmosphere was incredibly sketchy. Also my mom and I felt very sick while we were there and our dogs got worms. It was a "non smoking room" yet the smoke detector was literally orange from residue. Reply to owner's response:
