DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I booked for 5 days only stayed 3 days, no kind of price adjustment was given. The rooms are from the Twilight Zone. The couch had hole so big...with a sheet over it. Ugh. The workers walk the property by the room all day n night. Are they being nosy or are they looking for a victim? There is no breakfast! That's a straight lie. The towels are thin as paper and it stinks. I found a pair of sneakers in a drawer and some lingerie in another drawer. The outlets hang out the wall. There are weird people that will scare you silly! Ugh. Never again

The hotel's location was highly convenient, offering easy freeway access and plentiful parking. The staff was cooperative and helpful.

Cheaply priced for a reason, practically in the hood. People were fighting outside my door 😔@ 1a.m. in the morning. Junkies arguing almost all night outside and in the room beneath mines. Close to the highway and a few food spots are the good things I can say to

I and other American Red Cross (ARC) volunteers travelled to Columbia, SC to assist with Hurricane Hanna disaster preparedness activities. The ARC coordinator, who was not from the SC area, booked approximately 10 rooms at the American Inn for 20 volunteers as the motel was close to our temporary HQ building and the rates were reasonable. We checked in, took a look at/smelled our rooms, and immediately poured out of our rooms to the safety of the outdoors. The smell was horrible; the bathroom door was bashed in and mended with duct tape; the toilet paper and towel holders had been ripped off the walls; bugs were in the beds; a paper towel was stuffed into the front door’s gaping “viewing hole”; the microwave was covered with old food; garbage was on the bathroom floor; etc. Fortunately

We thought this was a decent hotel from the pics online, when we got there it was nasty. The sheets were stained the nightstands have mold on the back of them. If you decide to stay here ask to see the room first because there's a little sign in the cubby check in that says no refund. Hardly worth the $95 they charged. One good thing to add, the clerk worked with us and gave us a partial refund. Thank you sir, otherwise we'd been out $95 for five minutes of nastiness.
