Agave Terlingua

Our experience at Base Camp Terlingua @ Casa Agave was fantastic. We escaped the cold wave in Austin, TX, and originally booked a Teepee at Base Camp Terlingua for the unique experience. However, due to the unusually low temperatures across the state, the management kindly relocated us to Casa Agave something we truly appreciated, as the stay was very comfortable and, most importantly, warm. The property is beautifully designed, resembling the architecture of homes in Santa Fe, NM. In my opinion, the experience was perfect, especially as a relaxing spot after hiking in Big Bend National Park.

We finally found the perfect spot in Terlingua! Casita was well equipped, bed was incredibly comfortable and the location is ideal. Gorgeous sunrise! Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I have stayed at three different basecamp properties over the past several years, and we could not recommend them more. The rooms are comfortable, have everything you need, and thoughtfully designed to complement the desert scenery. We will absolutely be back.

Stayed one night at Casa Patrón. Things we loved were the outdoor shower Good amount of towels stored everywhere. High class soap products rather than cheap ones. Awesome window view. Outdoor seating area and fire pit. Things that were not good were the cleaning crew most likely wipe the storage counter with Fabuloso and turn the glasses and cups upside down but that then soaked the cleaning scent into the cups. So a glass of wine or cup of tea tasted horrible like you were drinking cleaning supplies. So we just washed and cleaned everything again before we used them intensely. Someone else’s socks and used ear plugs were left on the side of the bed so they most likely had to rush the cleaning job. Bedroom a little small, bedroom and bathroom rustic but comfortable. Minimalist approach with matress on platform. Road to get there very rough and dusty. Coffee maker worked well. Scenic views are interrupted by trashy buildings and neighbors.
