The motel is located in a great spot: minutes to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor, next door to an Island shuttle stop, and within walking distance of 2 great restaurants (BBQ & Bar Harbor Lobster Pound). The good stops there. This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Here’s why: We paid over $1,000 for 3 nights here. I chose it because it was the only place I could find with 3 consecutive nights of vacancy and now I understand why. I wasn’t expecting luxury accommodations — I’ve stayed in motels before. I did expect to be treated as a valued guest and have a clean place to stay for 3 consecutive nights and that did not happen. Long story short: We were shuffled around to 3 different rooms in 3 nights. We had to ask for another room after the first night because there were animal
Location was all this place had going for it. It's close to Acadia, downtown Bar Harbor, the free Island Shuttle, and 2 great restaurants (Bar Harbor Lobster and Maine bbq). That is the only reason it got 2 stars. I stayed here because I could not find availability for the 3 nights needed, so I recommend trying to book over a month out when you are coming to the area -- even in October. To make a long story short: the place is a cheap motel with questionable cleanliness with hotel prices (we paid over $1,000 for 3 nights). There were some kind of animals having a party in the ceiling above the bed so we had to request a room change after the first night. We then were told we couldn't stay in the new room for the 3rd night and were moved again. This news was relayed to us via a phon
😊: The rooms are well off the main road and quiet, there are a few very good eateries a short walk such as a Grill and the other way a Lobster-shack.. 😢: Not much to dislike, these are good, basic digs..
The previous reviews definitely worried me. I called days before and spoke with the lady at the front desk (who i assume is the manager) and she told me the bad reviews were just from disgruntled customers who were “just upset they couldn’t leave early with a refund because of the no refund policy” and assured me that I’d enjoy my stay. I arrived and the reviews were not wrong. The place is out dated. My room had the smoke detector ripped out of the ceiling, outlets didn’t have covers, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the bed sunk in when i laid on it. The “free WiFi” doesn’t work. It’s one router in the office, that is supposed to serve the entire location. I had to drive down the road to send any text to relatives that live on the island. The positive is that there is a lobster p
It was ok. The rooms are older but they are clean. Some mildew in the bathrooms and the mattresses aren't great. We had an emergency and could only stay one of the two nights we paid for. They refused a refund but that is their policy so I can't complain much. Just be wary of that. There is a really good place for lobster just across the street so that is a positive. Not too far from town.
