Customer Reviews
Aalsmeer was a convenient, economical and pet-friendly choice for an overnight visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Peter was very courteous and accommodating for our late arrival. Rooms are dated but clean and open onto a beautiful lawn area in front of the lake.
Just stayed overnight in Cabin 10, such a peaceful serene location on the lake. Absolutely had a wonderful stay, the host is extremely friendly and accommodating. I sat out on the deck at night and a fun time stargazing. Waking up was also extremely pleasant as I slept so well. Definitely would return.
We’ve always loved coming to Aalsmeer. The cottages/motel rooms are very simple, yet comfortable. We just love the lake, swimming, sailing, fishing. Enjoying a nice barbecue and getting to know our “neighbors “ while sitting around a nice bonfire by the lake. Everything is always clean and if we’ve ever had any issues (very rare) or special requests, they were taken care of in a very timely fashion. We’ve known the owners, The Fry family for many years. They and their staff have always been amazing, easy to work with and so accommodating. The drive into Cooperstown isn’t bad and we’ve always found it nice to stay outside of town. It’s quieter, much more relaxing than having to navigate through the vehicle and pedestrian traffic ||I would (and have) highly recommend Aalsmeer Cottages/motel.
Me and my wife stayed there in the hotel section. Very quaint. Very quiet. Very pretty by the lake,You could see the lake for miles. Yes like others said in the 1950s look. but didnt care. The major problems is no internet service-You had to go in town or the trolley park region to do service. And they should add an in room phones just in case something happens-I do under cell phones all that. Again, we had a great time, I met some of my hereos in baseball weekend. We even took our dog and she loved it too-no problems too. The owners cat was cute-Oswald. We will be back
My family have been renting multiple cabins and even some hotel rooms at Aalsmeer for decades!! Aalsmeer has been a bit of heaven for us. Now- the cabins need updating (new bed frames/mattresses, new refrigerators/freezers...) but we went knowing we were staying at a camp and it was ok for us. Nowadays people state the bed frames and mattresses and refrigerator/freezers really need to be updated for the cost of the cabin. Aalsmeer is an amazing place to stay and is so very unique. The dock has spaces for boats, there is a swimming area with a floating dock, there is a beach area kid friendly. Aalsmeer is dog friendly (please keep your dog leashed and only bring dogs that are kid and small dog friendly for everyone's safety). There is an awesome bonfire area for gathering at night.
