1911 Steam Train Hotel

Absolutely love this cute hotel. The hallway itself was fun to look at all the decor. Our room was great, the beds were so comfortable, it was quiet but you could hear traffic and the room was big. I feel in love with the room and 1 day did not venture out except bask in the sunlight in the rooftop deck. We dined at the downstairs restaurant when we arrived and they delivered to our room. Had a burger and fries - delicious! We will definitely come back!

We wanted to stay somewhere that was close to the Cumbres-Toltec RR station that would enhance our experience and the Steam Train Hotel certainly did that. It's minutes away from the station, with a few restaurants and the market within walking distance. The hotel is decorated with special touches that kept us in this wonderful atmosphere and the room was comfortable. This is definitely not a cookie cutter hotel (if you're looking for a Holiday Inn or Best Western vibe you will probably be disappointed). The Steam Train Hotel definitely has a unique charm to it.

The owner tried to break into our room. Some reason thought we left, then after we caught him, tried to kick us out. We called the sheriffs department and are pursuing charges, DON’T STAY HERE! Also pretty sure there is an illegal grow shop, down under the back portion.

I had a wonderful time staying at the Steam Train Hotel! I was here to ride the train to Chama. I stayed in room two and the whirlpool tub was fantastic!! The people have been kind and accommodating. I will be back, thank you!
