Yellow Bay / Flathead Lake State Park

I stopped here on the way back from Polson today and had a great talk with the host/caretaker. She showed me all the improvements they have made. Specifically the ADD additions and the parking lot for boat trailers. Her and her dog were really sweet and the facility is top notch! Thanks for the tour.

Plan to arrive early and stay late - incredibly beautiful location. It does get "full" of vehicles quite early in the day when it is going to be a nice day so go a little earlier to secure a spot. The water is pristine and the swimming area is stunning! It is rocky but a good towel, some water shoes (if you prefer) would be helpful. There were picnic tables and lots of families in the water and enjoying the shoreline. Clean bathroom facilities (a little rustic but clean). No food/water sold here so bring your supplies. For littles maybe a life jacket would be helpful and it gets deep quickly. If you are in the area there are several restaurants nearby that are worth the visit. If you want to feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle make this a destination.

My son and I love it here! Father/son vacation . My first time visiting Montana and definitely won't be the last! Great staff! (Helpful, knowledgeable and courteous.) We woke up to rain this morning. But still having a great time!

We were so lucky to be able to find a place that we could take our dog. We found a cool little zone right next to the boat launch where the stream comes down through. Our dog was able to swim we were able to catch the race and it was a fantastic day, actually one of the best days of the summer.

Music see if visiting Flathead lake area, unique experience! Driving on "Go on the sun" road is really great! Make a few stops, take some memories with you!!! 💓
