Wyndham Kaua'i Beach Villas

I do not typically write reviews and we are not terribly high maintenance travelers. However, I feel people need to be aware of what they are walking into at this property. The good: it is conveniently located on the island (near the airport and centrally located to easily visit each end of the island); it was clean and the staff was nice. However, it was such a shame to see what could be a great property in the shape it is currently in. The balconies on the units are closed due to safety issues. The buildings with a potential ocean view are completely closed (so do not expect a room with a view). The service was good and people were kind. The location is good overall and getting everywhere was easy. However, the rooms are outdated. I do see the renovations happening, so hopefully this means that the rooms will be updated when we return. Our drain in the shower was clogged on the first night and the water pressure was not strong. Some of the seal and moldings in the bathrooms were chipping/peeling also. We did not spend a lot of time in the room, but it was an average room. The beach was beautiful. We always thank you for the hospitality!

It seemed like not an even a single room has seen any updates ever. Old FURNITURE, refrigerator was not clean, floors really need renovating, the TOILET flushs really slow and it's one those 3 gallon ones. All units have these wooden slated windows, you get all outside sounds coming through as if they were open, like the roasters come at 2am in the morning. The front desk staff was rude and unaccommodating. We requested a 15-minute early check-in, and this lady at the front desk looked at me like I am giving you a favor even letting you stay here - come back at 4pm or else I will send you back wherever you came from, Aloha! Some rooms have boarded up old air conditioners, while if you are.lucky, your room is on the bottom and was upgraded due to flooding. Still, the furniture in the livingroom looked like '70's furniture, with stains included. The lack of a gym facility, or other onsite activities is inconvenient for those wishing to exercise daily. The pickleball/tennis courts and basketball outdoor areas are very old and outdated/unappealing/unusable. The limited amounts of umbrellas and chairs for guests is disheartening, when you have a beach day planned and are left with nothing. In the throes of refurbishment. No construction noises really, more about dumpsters blocking pathways, the extensive and beautiful pools being partly closed waterfalls at pools off, that kind of thing. Service, everywhere on the grounds is stellar. It can't be ez constantly cleaning up feral chicken poop on walkways or common paths, but they do it. We needed xtra laundry detergent & coffee filters-promptly provided. If you need pampering & luxury stay in the Wyndham structure proper. The Kauai Beach Villas are more laid back, relaxed.
