Roach Problem: The wife and I were only staying for a full day. We checked in after midnight the night before after being on the road half of the day. We were tired and just wanted to sleep. The next morning we woke up and spent the day out of the room. That evening, we returned to find our room infested with roaches once the lights came on. I killed at least 5 of them within minutes of each other. Looks like they were coming in through a crack in the grout by the bathtub. It was absolutely disgusting. I called the front desk and all they offered was to send a maintenance man up with a can of spray. Since it was late and we were leaving early in the morning, and needed to try and get some sleep, not to mention that I had killed all that I could see and plugged the crack up with toilet pape

The room was far worse than the photos suggested—run-down, with cheap bandaid fixes and visible wear. The only elevator was old, filthy, extremely slow, and made awful rattling noises. Housekeeping ignored our room for three days straight; we had to repeatedly ask for cleaning. Front desk staff were rude, disheveled, and incompetent with the computers—messing up our reservation and trying to double-charge us (including a hidden parking fee). The beach itself was dirty and smelled terrible—not worth any charge. Hidden fees, bad maintenance, and unprofessional service made this one of my worst hotel stays.

Positive: I loved that the decor of the room was modern, but in the South, we call that putting lipstick on a pig. Negative: Maintenance staff couldn’t speak any English. The management of the hotel couldn’t understand that a closet containing rotted wood, mold, mildew, bugs, and a dripping pipe into a bucket wasn’t reason enough to give me a full refund. Blood on sheets.

We had a mediocre experience here. Do NOT expect to use the amenities if you’re visiting in the winter. There were no towels at the pool, no beach chairs or umbrellas. The manatee was closed many times we went to visit. ||||The hotel is in need of a lot of maintenance. The elevator was scary, lights falling out of the ceiling, it would shake every time we’re on it, and the door wouldn’t open sometimes, it would take 1-2 minutes to open with us inside. (We thought it was broke multiple times) The shower curtain was so cheap and flimsy, then combined with the quality of the shower head, that our bathroom floor would flood every time we showered. ||||Also, Sunday December 7th, in the C-building the fire alarms went off at 10:00am with no warning or explanation. We stayed on the 7th floor and

The ocean view was amazing! My boyfriend and I loved the view and the balcony. The only problem with the balcony was that someone was smoking a cigar at the pool, and the bad smell rose to the 5th floor balcony where I was trying to enjoy the ocean view. I had to go back inside of the room because of the nasty cigar smell. The reason for the 1 star is because the room had roaches and there was a dead flea on the bar of soap! The room itself was nice, but our room was by the stairway and people would slam the door going down the steps which kept me awake. Also, the a/c was loud which wasn't good for sleeping either. I could hear the shower going in other rooms, better sound proofing could cut down on the noise. The hotel charges $10 a night to park, even though we were guests. I asked about
