Wikiup Hummingbird Hotel

Cozy, quirky and very, very quiet. We stayed in the StarGazer room. The bed was super comfy and the room was very clean. The bathroom was great....lots of hot water. Julian is a Dark Sky Community and we had hoped to be able to view the night sky. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate! It was rainy, cold, foggy and miserable. The room was lovely but the area around the hotel is extremely dark. Not a lot of outdoor lighting. I recommend bringing a flashlight! And you'll need to be able to climb stairs if you want to stay in this room. The llamas and goats were a fun extra!

I have no idea why this is listed as a 1-star hotel. It is clean, quiet, comfortable, and has everything you need. The rooms are spacious and have kitchenettes, hot tubs, coffee, and everything else you would want. There is a common area you can use that has board games, a huge TV, local wines, fancy tea and coffee, and friendly staff to help answer questions about the area. The llamas are the best part! There are four llamas. Jet is fun and outgoing. Barbara is the shiest. Feeding her is a two-person job. One person has to slowly feed and distract the goats and Jet. Another person has to use two bowls, one to slowly feed the other llamas, and one to feed Barbara. We absolutely love this place and will be back every time we visit Julian! The owner Chris is accommodating, professional, and knows the good spots to recommend. We’ve been bragging about this charming hotel during our whole stay!

I had the most amazing time at the Wikiup hotel.|-live animals you can feed on premises|-hot tubs PLUS a cowboy hotter (private)|-close to hiking trails|-near the main town|-Common Area|-Isolated rooms||Overall I had an amazing experience the staff was lovely. Gave great advice on local areas to check out and activities. Ashley gave great connections. Put me in contact with local horseback riding and the wolf reservation.||The rooms are comfortable and cozy. Any time I come back to the Julian town I plan to stay here.
