White Pine Lodge

We ended up booking the White Pine Lodge to give us a place to rest while skiing at Holiday Valley (as Holiday Valley rooms were sold out). What can I say about it? Salamanca NY is clearly a town that has seen better days and now seems to survive on cannibis and gambling; 180 degrees from Ellicottville. But despite inconsiderate guests at the hotel who were smoking weed in their rooms (which filled the entire hallway and to some extent, our room), the White Pine Lodge was clean, comfortable, and quiet, albeit dated. The free breakfast was a nice addition to get some fuel before hitting the slopes again. It served its purpose for us.

We had stopped for a quick recharge just off 86 and spotted the Lodge from the Burger King parking lot. Very quiet and staff was so accommodating when I asked for a handicap room. I can’t remember a more comfortable bed and pillows plus so soft linens. The bathroom grab bars were in good placement and bathtub had handicap seat permanently attached. In other words they understood being physically handicapped.|They have an interesting way to do breakfast as it was place your order the night before and you could pick up a grab and go bag as early as 5:30 am.

Continental breakfast is pretty good, well stocked. I think they were doing some renovations while we were there cause large parts were roped off, pool and gym closed... So... Assuming that they were renovating and are done by now, its probably pretty awesome at this point.

A very average hotel. The pool was being renovated so couldn't use it. The bath had mould in the corners and wall of the shower area. Breakfast - all prepackaged - was in a paper bag to be collected from the desk during breakfast hours. There was a lounge /bar area locked up at all times.All in all, a one night stay, however, for the price paid, I wouldn't stay there again.

We stayed 9/5/25 one night for a wedding Location is ok no light at the intersection . Outside very plain. It’s under massive renovation. No where on line did I see this posted. We would have stayed somewhere else. Half the place is closed. Including the pool. The high rating for this place is probably because it’s pet friendly. Dogs everywhere. Our room needed an upgrade. Visible ware . It was late when we arrived . Didn’t bother me until my daughter went to get into bed and the sheets were dirty. Large stains on both fitted and flat. Pillow case was hairy and dirty . We asked for clean sheets and we changed them our selves. When I pulled the pillow case off the pillow protected was yellow and disgusting. Needless to say we checked all our sheets after that .
