I’m honored to be the 100th review for White Pelican. This is our 2nd year using WP for our annual guys tubing trip. Let me say first that the communication is top notch. Not once did I feel confused or out of the loop with our river trip. They are very flexible with unexpected weather and launch times. We had some bad weather other the weekend and I was in constant communication with WP over when our new launch time was. They have a great re-schedule/refund policy if mother nature isn’t cooperating the weekend you go. The tubes are fantastic! They also have large cooler tubes for your coolers/feet to rest on. We hope to use the White Pelican for our future tubing trips for many years to come. Congratulations on your 100th review and many 5 ⭐️ reviews in the future. Cheers!
We did the 5 mile route August 31, 2025. We drove our own 1 kayak to the put in, drove our vehicle down to point of exit. White Pelican picked us up from point of exit and brought us back up to put in. Here we rented 3 kayaks for the rest of us. White Pelican welcomed our yellow labrador on kayak, no problem. (Our pup is a seasoned kayaker.) Life vests are newer and they loaned one extra to us, no charge. White Pelican helped via phone/text with navigation when we got a little lost driving to the exit point (note: T mobile not perfect service in this area). I liked that there are no hidden fees, functional and newer life vests, a map with landmarks to exit point, a midway island stop with picnic table (we grabbed food from Jay’s Diner—you can walk here from put in) to stop and picnic,
We took the 12 miles kayak trip and had a perfect day out on the river. The team at White Pelican is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful at every step in the process. The only nit I have to pick is that some of the equipment could use a refresh. For example, my kayak had a broken foot rest on the left side, and the storage wasn't quite adequate for our trip bag, but ultimately, these things didn't take much away from the trip. There are miles of beautiful forest and magnificent rocky walls/outcrops. We stopped off at a couple of the islands and found gorgeous flowers and undisturbed wilderness that is deeply refreshing. We also stopped at the Castle Rock Park observatory and took in the stunning views atop the platforms there. ** If you plan to stop here, too, do yourself a favor and pul
Excellent experience from White Pelican Canoe on a very tough weather day. It was a heat index of 105 and winds were 20mph. They gave us the best treatment and after we launched they even checked on us about a mile upriver to make sure we were ok. I was blown away by the kindness and individual care that they gave us. When we checked in she showed us everything about the area, the maps to the campground, how to navigate the river, and even offered to pick us up from the campground if we were way too hot given the heat index. These guys actually care about their customers and they care about the river. Highly recommend using them, I will be back.
This was a such a great outing for the Scouts and adult leaders! Ryan was extremely helpful with coordination and getting all of us geared up and embarked on our journey down the Rick River. We even had a physically challenged Scout who needed an extra Canoe chair and Ryan and the team helped secure him in safely. Mad respect to you all for what you do at White Pelican! You helped me fall in love with canoeing. Thanks again!!!
