I Use Canoe Campground with Scout Troop yearly. No vehicle access. However there is a maintenance drive used by Ranger. I have left a Water stash for pickup along IL Rt 2 at this driveway. Castle Rock boat launch is up river from Campground. Park and launch from there to reach campground down river on west side of Rock River. Fee box near the Outhouse to pay and register you campsite.
Beautiful spot, the only issue we had was to hunt for wood. We will be coming back for sure.
Clean camping and nice play to hike and quite refreshing from the boring plain landscape of Illinois
It was the best place to camp clean nice and the rangers are very nice have lots of fun 😊.
Has everything you need, picnic table, fire pit, outhouse and a small stream to filter from.
