White Cloud Campground

We stayed 8.15.24, no campfires allowed at this time. Campsites are good size, and both Campsites & bathrooms were clean. Lots of tree coverage and you can hear road noise from Hwy 20. $24 a night 1/2 off with senior pass.

It was our first visit to White Cloud and we made reservations and found out when we arrived that it never fills up, so their is no need to make reservations. We loved the size of the sites. If you go pick a site farthest away from route 20, because you do hear cars all day and night. The only disadvantage is the yellow jackets. They bothered us while we ate at night and in the morning. The drive to Scott's Flat Lake is 6 miles and the lake is big with boat rentals. Take a shower their it is 25 cents for 3 minutes. If we go back it would be when the weather is cooler to avoid the yellow jackets. The camp host are very nice and friendly. Get place for the kids to play, with lots of room. Campsites themselves are very nice but this is the loudest campground I've ever stayed at. Had to leave after one night cause of the trucks going up and down the hill, got no sleep. During the day there are helicopters flying over head. Seems like a good place to stop if you are traveling though

Loved our weekend at this campground. Beautiful trees, site’s space was good. First night was fantastic- quiet and peaceful. Second night had a group of 12 move into the spaces next to us and they were up until 1am. Normally, I don’t mind folks enjoying their time, but several were very loud and obnoxious, it was a bit disruptive. Camp host did not seem to mind, however. Overall a great spot!! Bathroom kept clean, camp host came around several times during the day.

Must have passed this place a hundred times over the years en route to Lake Tahoe. Finally made White Cloud the destination instead and had a great two-day stay. Close to Nevada City and a great swimming hole.
