Had issue with falling bathroom rod upon arrival and I did a quick fix myself. Their freezer is connected with fridge (see picture), so all my food became solid ice cubes. I told the front desk upon checking out. Front desk asked me to email their back office. Was able to get $10 courtesy refund. I requested $20, they firmly said no. Also, you don’t really get to see popcorn ceiling often nowadays in hotels. The location is superb. The staff is overall friendly. One caveat, the hotel do charge a significant amount of resort fee. Also tax is due upon checkin. So, we paid $70+ extra for our stay compared with original planning.

Our family has enjoyed Waking Heritage Hotel for 3 years in a row and we love it! The location is walk friendly to everything you need and a beautiful stretch of beach! The rooms are simple but clean and the staff is wonderful! We love their beautiful pool and coffee in the morning! It is our true Hawaii Home away from home! As long as we can we will be staying here every year!!

Was charged $30 amenity fee, but was only given 1 shampoo and 1 recycled bar soap, not worth it. The hotel lost power/electricity for hours and doesn’t have a back up generator. Only thing good was the location.

The location is fabulous. Everything is very walkable from this location. The rooms are a bit outdated. Mini fridge but no microwave in the room. There is one at the coffee station near the check in. We also had a cockroach in our room. Informed the office and we received raid spray to get rid of it. “resort” fees due upon check-in unsure what that is for as house keeping is a separate charge as well as room service. Overall you get what you pay for.

This hotel is good and has extremely comfortable beds which is good for my chronic back pain. The only things I don't like about this hotel is the fact that there's no actual glass windows, just screens and shutters; the parking being extremely tight even for a compact Kia; and the pool closing at dusk even though it remains warm enough here to go swimming later in the evening so we haven't had a chance to even go swimming once because we've been arriving back at the hotel after dusk. An evening or night swim would be quite enjoyable if they leave the pool open later. Also they don't provide you with housekeeping so if you need something extra, clean towels, etc you have to go ask the front desk for them. The staff here is very nice and the property itself is very beautiful with lots of na
