Voco by IHG Hotel Napoleon Memphis Downtown

Stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 nights earlier this January. From the off - it was a great experience- easy and friendly check-in and the public areas downstairs are very stylish with thoughtful design touches. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with all the essentials needed for a short stay. Located in a good part of downtown- a short walk to key areas of the city. Would stay here again if we returned.

This was the second and last chance I gave this property. The staff is nice. Maybe they are understaffed? Maybe they can't afford housekeeping? Who knows? |This last trip - the bathroom floors were filthy. I couldn't walk barefoot without putting a towel down. Granules of some debris? Who knows? |Sheets and towels were scratchy. Typically that wouldn't be a big deal. But after seeing things I could literally pick up off the carpet and the trash from someone else's stay under the bedside stand, the sheets made me feel itchy as if everything were dirty. |I have been a loyal IHG member for years. Platinum level. And this has made me rethink my credit card and loyalty with the brand. What a disaster.

Positive: The staff was nice and responsive. Negative: The sheets were not smooth and crisp.The room itself was nice. I liked the bathroom and shower. Lots of external light and okay view from my room.

Despite the building being older and historical, the Voco renovation and rebranding was very well done and the hotel is in like new condition. The front desk staff is very kind and accommodating, and the lobby is very well designed. The rooms are decent but compared to the price and everything else about the hotel could have some more amenities. The breakfast-included rate offers a very generous meal voucher for The Archives.

We dropped in to the Archive Bar and Bistro for breakfast, and boy are we glad we did. It was delish and Hugh was a great host. It looks like he runs the whole joint and does a bit of everything. Food was delish, the coffee strong, and the service quick.
