La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Memphis Downtown

Positive: Front desk staff was great!!! Negative: The elevators were out twice during our stay. Checkout with 2 kids was not easy with multiple trips down the stairs (only 1 stairwell to use)

Very nice hotel. Pretty convenient location. Room was comfortable and clean. Lemon water and coffee in lobby were a nice touch. Was able to do laundry in the guest laundry. Pool looked nice. Breakfast buffet was pretty good. Room was not serviced until late in day.

This was a nice enough hotel, but it is not a five-star luxury hotel. We scored it a 3.5. It’s just a basic regular hotel with a pretty good included breakfast. The location is very close to Beale Street. About a 2 1/2 block walk. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, although there was some noise if you’re facing the streets. The lighting in the room wasn’t the best, we felt like it was a little dim. The parking was free, and they offer water and hot drinks all day. Some of the staff was nicer than others.

I stayed here with my pregnant wife and the conditions were completely unacceptable. Our room was infested with cockroaches. This was not a one-off sighting – there were multiple insects visible, raising serious hygiene and health concerns. We immediately reported this to the front desk. The member of staff appeared entirely unconcerned and offered no reassurance. We were moved to another room, but the same issue was present there as well. The manager repeatedly avoided speaking with me directly but promised a refund, which has still not been honoured. Looking at other reviews, this appears to be an ongoing problem rather than an isolated incident. Due to the health risk, particularly given my wife’s pregnancy, we had no choice but to escalate the matter. I have reported the hotel to th
