Villas by the Sea Resort and Conference Center

As others have said the rooms can be a little dated. I think it depends on the unit you are assigned as they are individually owned. We stayed in a one bedroom, ocean view unit. The one bedrooms are on the first floor and have a somewhat limited view of the ocean. A few steps out the back patio and we were on the little boardwalk/pavilion that runs parallel to the ocean. The stairs on one side are blocked off and being repaired. The tide was high at the time, so we could not walk or access the beach from the boardwalk( the water comes right up to the stairs). Despite this we definitely enjoyed the view, the sun shines on the water in a way that looks like gold. It is understandable why the area is referred to as the Golden Isles. I had a wonderful experience at Villas by the Sea! Terra at the front desk went above and beyond to help me extend .y stay, even when it looked like availability might be an issue. She was kind, patient, and truly made me feel cared for. I loved my villa - I wasn't right on the beach, but could hear and see the ocean from the patio, which was peaceful. I would love to make this a yearly trip, if the Lord wills. I highly recommend if you want a restful, peaceful and welcoming experience.

Our non-profit organization keeps returning to Villas by the Sea to host professional development workshops and conferences because of the excellent management, enchanting location, and affordable costs. Nestled in a lush maritime oak forest beside the ocean, there is no more beautiful place to stay on Jekyll Island! For nature lovers, the ocean views, a short trail to hauntingly beautiful Driftwood Beach, and nearby Horton Pond gazebo make this property irresistible. ||But we would not be such frequent customers if not for Ryan, who makes Conference logistics a breeze. Great place but minimal beach access. If you want to walk on the beach every day stay in the 100 units near Driftwood Beach. They had to put giant rock barriers up to prevent erosion. They have a nice beach boardwalk, gazebo, chairs, and playground. Older units but affordable and I like it for our family. The pool in midsummer is too warm, so if that's you're thing go early in the season. Staff is Amazing. Super super nice people.

I had a great birthday experience last year. But I hear the restaurant is no longer open (again). And the desk clerk indicated there is no food available on the property. We made the reservation there because of the food truck and cafe/store available last year this time. But since the restaurant appeared to be opened when we reserved in August, we proceeded. This is unfortunate, if true. And Hotels.come, Google maps and other sites may need to adjust the information (confirming with the appropriate property personnel) to indicate NO restaurant or food. I'm still looking forward to my stay. We love the location and flexibility of having a three-bedroom villa.
