Jekyll Island Club Resort

Just had one of the best girls weekend trips of my life at Jekyll Island Club! The beauty and splendor of this Historic hotel never tires. It’s exquisite and harkens back to the Gilded Age of Great Gatsby. The place was popping with excitement all weekend. An art festival, two weddings, a fun conference, and an Allman Bros cover band concert all on Saturday night. The shuttle safely took us to their sister hotel and restaurant on the beach for a lovely dinner after a day of bike riding and lounging poolside. We enjoyed everything and everyone: Jameson who helped with our heavy bags, Todd the bartender (who had a birthday!), Mike at the front desk, Gigi who ran the spa and Chamel (I’m sorry if I misspelled your name!) who gave an incredible body scrub and massage. Positive: The history, architecture, aesthetic, comfort, the staff, and bar. Negative: I wish that there was a space dedicated for working. If not a business center or desks in tge rooms, perhaps a table that works with the chairs provided in the rooms that will carry a laptop or notebook.

The hotel and rooms were very nice! We enjoyed biking around the grounds and swimming in the pool on an unseasonably warm January Day. The food at founders social was great. Loved shopping at the little stores as well. The spa is a joke. Not run by the hotel per my understanding but they will charge you 40% extra for gratuity and a "spa service charge" beware! Our best meal was at 80 Ocean at the beach club. The shuttle took us over and picked up, perfect evening. Overall we will return just not get massages here.

It's a wonderful experience. There's a long history of old money wealth and opulence in Jekyll Island, and this historic hotel preserves the same sense of elegance those famous-name families enjoyed in the late 1800's. The rooms are updated and comfortable, but retain the original classic look of bedrooms of that period. The staff and services are excellent. Surrounding the hotel are the "cottages" built by J P Morgan and others, many open for guided tours. We loved it.

We love the Club resort! The staff is caring, knowledgeable and respectful. The rooms at any level are clean, well-furnished and comfortable. It is my husband's and my "go to" place. We can relax, ride bikes, walk and sit on the huge veranda to read. The restaurant is a "moment in time." Do yourself a favor and enjoy spoiling yourself!
