Villas at Regal Palms

I booked a weeklong stay at one of the villas here through Expedia, for a family of six. It was a very competitive price compared to the hotels I looked at in the area, and included four bedrooms! There were no additional fees, like for parking, which I appreciated. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The added privacy and sleep quality helped us enjoy our vacation. Our kitchen was modern, including the appliances. The style of the rest of the place feels a little dated, but everything was clean and worked well for us. The clubhouse wasn't a comfortable walk from our villa, so we had to drive, but there was always available parking. Villas at Regal Palms has been a total nightmare to deal with and I STRONGLY advise staying away! We were BIG TIME lied to during the sales process specifically being told that it was a great investment because we could easily rent it or even sell it, but both were lies. They promised us easy exchanges for Disney trips, but that was not possible either! It is so bad that we have not even used Regal Palms in 4 years! When you get to the resort, the amenities are a HUGE disappointment… the pool and lazy river are small and always overcrowded. The on-site food is not good at all. Their customer service is nonexistent! They have refused our requests to cancel our “ownership “ and have stopped responding to us at all. We booked this place through our timeshare, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. Our first night was horrible—there was mold on the pull-out mattress, the bathrooms were dirty, and the carpets were filthy. We could not stay another night. I ended up spending almost an entire day of my vacation trying to resolve these issues. The property manager, however, was very kind and helpful. She showed us the new unit ahead of time and worked with us to relocate us to a different location. It’s also important to note that these units are not managed by Villas at Regal Palms. They are managed by a separate company—Regal Palms only handles check-in and check-out. While the second unit was slightly better, it was still very outdated. I wish I had read these reviews before I booked this place. It’s awful. Luxury? Far, far from it. Old, outdated, dirty. I give it two stars because the showers had great pressure and the water was hot and the beds weren’t terrible. Everything else.. so disappointing. The ice maker doesn’t work, the coffee pot is 40 years old with years of coffee burnt to the heat plate and the pot was dirty, I had to scrub it. The TV buffers, skitters, freezes making it impossible to watch anything. There is no outside space to enjoy, theres a dirt gulley and buildings behind us and a postage size lawn out front. It was so hard to reach anyone at the front desk. Amenities and pool were a ways away from our townhouse. The condo smelled lik sulfur. We felt like all the parks, airport, were a long drive. The stay was "okay".
