Quit crying and get some earplugs! This is not a sit outside and enjoy the sounds of nature campground. It is smack in the middle of a busy interstate and heavily used rail line. Duh. It is a great location for access to the Columbia River and the historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. Awesome biking and walking. The bathrooms and showers were clean on our visit.
I mean it got the job done. However it’s right next to the highway and also the train tracks, so I’d recommend camping some where else in the area if there are other campsites close that are open. Campsite also was incredibly small😭. BUT it’s right near the Columbia River so you can easily walk to the river from the site which is nice and there’s a beautiful view over there!
Lets start with the positive well I gave it a one star. The state worker was cute and very friendly and helpful and the place was not crowded April 13th-april 16th 2025. Lots of trees and easy walk to the river. That was the good now the bad really bad. The TRAIN is insanely loud and close I mean close. Sites 27 and 29 are the worst for west bound train as that is right where they blow the whistle every time without fail as the crossing is 1/4 mile away. It gets better they blow it 2 more times before reaching the crossing. The good news is the east bound trains blow horn before reaching campground but they are still loud. You can also hear train across the river. The highway is also noisy and at night sorta sounds like a windy night but it is just traffic. It is a good spot to stay if hik
Pretty camp ground with great water access but DO NOT sleep here as even earplugs and a pretty soundproof van the noise and vibration from the trains were too much. Theres also the constant highway noise.
Campground was pretty, showerhouse was good and staff was pleasant. The sites were fine if you could just remove your ears. The interstate is constant, the train is all night. By day two I wanted to stab my ear canals just for a few minutes of sleep! We will not be back.
