Best Western Plus Columbia River Inn

We decided to skip the Best Western in hood river and opted for this one that had significantly cheaper rooms with a river view. We were so happy with our choice and really impressed by how kind the staff was and how clean our room was. We traveled with a dog and there was plenty of space to walk them. There is a train that runs by multiple times a day/night, they do provide ear plugs but honestly we didnt notice the sounds after awhile. I would happily drive out of my way to come to this hotel again. And breakfast was included from the restaurant nextdoor which actually had a decent selection including pancakes and sausage.

John made our stay truly special! He recognized my Diamond Select status right at check-in — something many other hotels overlook. We arrived tired, and his warm welcome, helping us with our bags, offering water and cookies, instantly brightened our evening. His kindness and professionalism set the tone for our entire visit. John went above and beyond — offering great recommendations for dining and sightseeing, and always making sure we had everything we needed.||Our room had a stunning river view, perfect for relaxing. The next morning, the lady at the front desk was friendly and attentive, keeping the coffee machine clean and giving excellent directions to all the waterfalls we wanted to visit.||Thoughtful staff, gorgeous views, and helpful guidance made this stay unforgettable!

We love the small town of Cascade Locke. This hotel was right next to The Bridge of the Gods; And we had a great view from our room of the Columbia river. Holly helped us book our reservations and was so pleasant. The hotel was clean, and the Alex welcomed us and checked us in; and John was available for anything that we needed. He played music with his guitar by the fire while we waited to leave for dinner. John has his own playlist of songs, and has quite the life experiences, as he shared that he helped to create famous bronze statues. The hotel room was very roomy as we had six in our party, so there were three large beds and a master suite like section. The amenities were modern, including the bathroom. The hotel felt fresh and contemporary while giving the vibe of a small town

Positive: Only 8 minutes from the car rental return. Lots of charging ports. Mini fridge, microwave. Soft bed. Underground on-site parking included. Negative: I would like to see card only access to use the elevator from the parking garage for improved security.

Good: The room was spotless, and I really liked the décor—it felt warm and well designed. Soundproofing could be better, especially with teenagers staying next door, but John at the front desk was exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and resolved the issue quickly. One of the best hotel staff experiences I’ve had. The location and river views are excellent. Considerations: Winter in the Gorge can be very windy (part of the environment, not the hotel), though the views must be stunning in summer. Breakfast is provided via vouchers at a neighboring restaurant—great view, good food and convenient, but service was slow during our visit. Overall: A clean, comfortable hotel in a great location. Thoughtfully run, with standout staff. I’d happily stay here again.
