Cascade Motel

This is a quick and quiet place to stop off the main road. Though it’s close to other attractions and the road, it was very quiet. We spoke to Scott, the owner, over the phone and he had lots of great recommendations for dining. We met the managers, James and Lee, who were so friendly and had great tips and handouts for exploring the Gorge area. The cottages are thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind and nice amenities. We especially loved the water pressure in the shower, allowing us to unwind after busy days hiking. This is a charming stay in the Gorge and we would definitely stay again when in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cascades Motel! It was an ideal location for our exploration of the Columbia River Gorge. The owners were so friendly, and a joy to talk to. Their personalities were reflected in the homey feeling and decor of our 2 bedroom cottage, which had a lot of character - something we always look for when we're traveling. We would definitely stay there again if we're ever in the area. So much to enjoy near Cascade Locks too!

This family owned motel was a real find. We enjoy staying in family-owned hotels rather than in big chains and are usually not disappointed. Cascade Motel has a nicely groomed exterior with a large front lawn area for relaxing and enjoying the evening. There are a lot of little details that are obvious the owners are hoping to enhance their visitor’s stay. In the back is an area to cook on a grill and eat in a covered table area. The room was clean and comfortable. The tv is on streaming, so you need to enter your account number for services such as Hulu, Sling,Netflix, etc,otherwise local news stations aren’t available. We enjoyed our brief stay in the cabin at the Cascade Motel. It was clean and so cute. When we had difficulty with the television, Lisa, the manager, came right down to help out - and she resolved the issue! We always enjoy staying in locally owned places, often off the beaten track, when traveling and this place was a great find!

Delightfully retro. My “cottage” was number 2. It was spacious. The kitchen area had a big fridge/freezer, cooker. Microwave, toaster, lots of plates, dishes and a delightful coffee percolator. Bed was really comfy. Parking right outside. The owner was very helpful with lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
