Travelodge by Wyndham Water's Edge Hotel - Racine

Cheap rooms so you get what you pay for. Beds were super comfortable and the room had microwave and fridge. No free WiFi unless you are with their rewards program. Bathrooms looked where not clean with weird pink stuff on the bathroom doors floor and toilet (see pictures). The lady at the reception was super helpful switching our rooms when we accidentally got a king instead of the double beds we had booked online.

Positive: The convenience to where I had to go Negative: The carpet needed cleaning and there were spots on the sofa. There was no iron in the room and the light bulb was out on the night stand.

Moldy bathroom, dirty vents, gaping hole in the wall, clogged sink, bad heater that blew cold air, sticky floors, front desk person was a knob. Garbage outside, sidewalks not shoveled, lot not plowed. Nice helpful staff but way too many issues. Place is a dump. Plus had to get new keys twice & had to be let in by staff just to get our luggage settled. Do not stay here just keep driving. Other than great liquor store across the street this was terrible.

Not What You’d Expect from a Wyndham Property I'm leaving this review to help others make an informed choice. We checked into the Travelodge by Wyndham Water’s Edge Hotel in Racine, Wisconsin on October 19, 2025, and checked out within minutes. From the moment we arrived, something felt off. The parking lot had several vehicles that looked like they were being lived in and two guests near us were using trash bags as luggage. When we entered, there was no one at the front desk. A man returned wearing jeans, a leather jacket and a baseball (no uniform or nametag) checked us in. It didn’t inspire confidence that he worked there. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY DO NOT STAY HERE. This is probably one of the worst hotel stays of my life. We were welcomed by vomit stains and the smell of mold in the lobby, and a lovely sign on one of the doors stating “this unit can not be used for human habitation occupancy or use” from the health department. We get into our hotel room and it is dirty, smells strongly of THC, and has no hot water. We checked out a day early because we get back to the hotel to see police across the hall from our room arresting people for a domestic disturbance. They refused to give us a refund and we will not be going back. The front desk lady was also very rude at the checkout counter.
