Travelodge by Wyndham Mackinaw City

A nice stay, room was clean, bed was comfortable. Woman that checked me in was very nice and friendly. |No breakfast in breakfast room, unsure if they had anything in the lobby or not.|main drawback in the room was not enough outlets, the one by the bed would not hold a plug, it kept falling out. Would stay again.

Walked into our room (102) and it smells very musty. The table was not anywhere near level so we used the coffee packets to level it out. Our room was close to what appeared next to the live in owners, which had a white dog that kept barking non stop and the lady kept her sliding glass door open for that happy dog to continually bark at a as we sat on a chair in front of our room. It was very uncomfortable setting with someone that Keith staring at us. The floors were very dirty, and we used our jackets to sit in the chairs at the Unilever table. The bathroom is extremely small, even for a 5ft 4inch person like me. The grounds are well kept and the lady at the front desk was extremely nice and you can tell the staff works their tails off. We will never stay here again , and wouldn’t recom

Positive: The location Negative: The hotel is a very seedy, run down motel. There were kids running around unsupervised, the property looks like people stay “short term”. Breakfast was not edible. Open communal bowls of food etc. if we could have stayed elsewhere I would have left.

Is this place a 5 star luxury hotel? No. Is it cheap, by the lake, and gets the job done? Definitely. The main office smelt really bad upon check in, like sewage, but aside from that I have no other complaints. Pool was clean, bed was clean, had cable, and free breakfast. There wasn’t a microwave in our room which was odd. And the bathroom looked like a horror movie; water damaged ceiling, leaking faucets, walls were peeling off, etc.

This was, hands down, one of our worst hotel experiences. Here's a list of every issue we experienced: - Room smelled musty and no amount of AC helped reduce the moisture - Bathroom was too small - Shower was disgusting - Toilet broke after 1 use - "Complementary breakfast" is laughable, there's not even any cream cheese (or anything) for the bagels - No signs saying when the pool is open (closes at 10pm btw) - Most outlets in the room didn't work or couldn't stay plugged in - They tout a microwave in each room, this is untrue - The ice machine is outside and had leaves and bugs in it I will say, the workers seemed to be doing their best, but that's about the nicest thing I can say. Cannot recommend. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more to go somewhere else.
