TownePlace Suites by Marriott Newport News Airport

Unfortunately we won't have our family stay here. As we live in the area, I was looking into this new place for my family to stay when visiting. When walking over, I asked the front desk girl (who was very nice and polite) if they allow pets to stay. She answered that they do for a fee. I then asked if I could come into their lobby with my 25 pound (non shedding) dog to take a quick look, which spanned a couple hundred feet. For the record, my dog was waiting outside with a family member. She asked the manager who then said "no, you'd have to pay a fee". When clarifying that I just wanted a minute to look at the lobby to see if it was a place I'd want my family to stay, she repeated herself. I found this off-putting, as they do allow pets in general, but she wanted me to pay a fee to just

This is truly a gem a brand new hotel service was great Hana at the front desk was so helpful with everything went above and beyond. Also Cally in the kitchen was so helpful and made a great breakfast.

We chose this newer property as a strategic "base camp" for a trip to Busch Gardens. While it’s located near the airport, it’s only about a 20-minute drive to the park and offered significantly better value than the higher-priced options in Williamsburg proper. The hotel itself is oddly placed among residential houses, but that actually provided a nice, quiet environment with plenty of sidewalks for a morning run. The hotel hits the mark on several substance items. The gym is surprisingly spacious with a great variety of equipment for a hotel setting. We were also impressed by the room’s lighting—usually a weak point in hotel design—and the kitchenette was a nice, functional touch.
